Description

It was a wish I cherished for several years. Visiting the Napf, a mountain of 1408 meters altitude in the Swiss 'Mittelland', the country between Alps and the Swiss plain. It is a landscape characterized by fresh green hills, and a conglomerate soil. It is remarkable to find everywhere almost spherical rocks, not on one specific location but really everywhere, and not just a layer, but to hundreds of meters depth! Incredible. I'm still not sure about its origin. I don't believe this can be the work of rivers or glaciers. The Napf is the highest point in this landscape, and this summit can be reached easily from different locations. The panoramic view, renowned in winter but on this occassion also in May, is stunning. A view on the northern Alps consumes several hours before I am saturated. From here I can see the saddle with snow on the right, called Sichle. Tomorrow I hope to show you the view from that point. I'm on my way! I've never run so hard for a self timed shot (10 seconds delay), but with this telelens.... Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 300 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

Woah.. Amazing photograph. I love the way the snowy mountains in the background have such a huge contrast to the sunny green hills in the foreground.

A friend have stude such round rocks and it is probably the result of many causes : water, glaciers and pression, many of this rock are "buddings" : conglomerate of different sorts of smaller rocks. A wonderful balade shot my friend !
