Description

After two days of boredom, made this little ship up. Size is about medium cruiser/battlecruiser spec. Or somewhere in the vicinity of 600m long I didn't really like the design at first, but with a little detailing it looks a little better. Texturing this thing is going to be a bitch... I hate texturing... Thoughts? Suggestions?

I think it's pretty cool work, do some texture and it's gonna rock.

It has some great angles, especially from front below. I don't envy you on the texturing work you'll need to do. What kind of drive does it have, I'm wondering where the driving jets are?

It currently has 2 different drive systems. The first and primary drive system is Impeller drive, honor harrington style. The impeller nodes are up front, the bulbs recessed into the hull. The Secondary drive system is in the back, a form of ion drive.

Nice model! I sure do miss modeling large spaceships. Good luck with the texturing, you might be able to get away with some box type texturing. It'll be hard, but also very rewarding. Good luck!

Perfect! This model realy looks scary. Though I would suggest a little smaler front canons to show a greater scale of the ship. If You would look at the sea warships such canon proportions would suit better a destroyer or even corvete. For a medium cruiser/battlecruiser feel You need "more body weight compared to weapons". The main thing in constructing a big scale ship is to show that even big weapons look small on the hull of a huge vesel.

Awesome ship...! I'm totally inspired by your level of detail. It's got an old-school look to it that just grabs me. I can't wait to see it textured!

Most impressive! The level of detailing here is fascinating and really very, very good. I would suggest doing a nice flat cubic map of a non-descript metallic color as a base texture and then build it up using varying diffusion, spec and bump maps for a quick and easy texture solution... or you could go all out and create a custom uvmap. Don't forget the random luminous bits to hint at windows and running lights. Either way you decide to go on textures, the detail on your mesh will go a long way in making this a very convincing and intimidating starvessel. :o) Gets my vote!

Impressive looking model and I'm sure it will look amazing when textured. Not that keen on the purple light if honest, but thats the only negative element here. Great work!
