Description

In 1953 Doug Hepburn of Vancouver B.C. Canada won the World Weightlifting Championships --altho loved by fans --he was given a less than heroes treatment by his own city and country until after his death --the world weightlifting body allowed the 2003 World Weightlifting championships to be held in his honor in his home town of Vancouver--the event had images of Doug on huge screen thruout --the fans still remembered and applauded wildly --Doug was the first man on earth to ever bench press 500 lbs--and he wrote the course that the first man to bench 600 (Pat Casey of Calif) used to achieve this feat --the story of Doug's life is here "Srongman by Tom Thurston"

Was that CanaDEEan dry?

[Just got the ebot for this today. Thought you'd like to know. As you say (and "pleased as punch" was scary, warn't he?), found it anyway. All the best and later....RV]
