This well in the middle of the square has these strange gooves cut into its edge.
It has been used constantly since 1273 to supply water to the town, and is still functioning.
As buckets of water are pulled up from the well, the ropes cut these deep grooves into the stone.

If you wanna go with the flow ya gotta get in the groove! A strange ritual... but most fitting outside the Banca. splash I found your commentary essential to understanding your picture as I thought (knowing you) it was an outdoor rock-climbing wall at first.. LOL. Great work aangus!
