Description

Well, this certainly was a day from Heck. I was preparing to take us around the Japanese / Chinese Tea Gardens when I discovered that the images are gone. Bye bye. Kaput. Adios. etc. Beats me how this happened. Must have scanned the CF and then got mixed up and formatted it. Jeeeeze. So I consoled myself with a new camera and decided to test it against things I'd photographed before. Some difference. The original of this is a 26X zoom in on the head of a small statue we've seen before at cuurent best quality, etc. It is 2048 x 1536 pixels originally. Reduced for here. So I played around with some filters I never had much joy with. This is the mosaic filter in PP9 DCE with a 'walnut' background (the 'grout' between the 'stones') and the largest mosaic stone setting available. Essentially, these act as very coarse pixels. (Black grout was too stark. Also discovered another setting under mosaic I may show tomorrow.) With smaller shots, the details disappear real quick. With a larger image, the details stay pretty much intact. THEN the image was shrunk to fit here. Curiously, the overall effect is much like a needlepoint tapestry. Three rectangular vignettes make the frame. I believe I ran intellihance before applying the mosaic pattern. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.
