Description

This is the image that won the june/july terrain contest at Renderosity. Guess what, I won two terrain contests in a row!!!! Before submitting I was not totally sure about the foreground, and tried a version without it but I felt the image was losing something. When I saw it, I told myself, "well it has a chance", but after seeing some other images (n.34 was my absolute favourite), I thought I won't stand a chance for the first place. It was good luck someone has different tastes!!!! Thanks for comments.

I love lighting, sky and water, and imho terrain, pov and surface are excellent as well. the pic looks a bit "over-sharpen" or to much compressed...

I just read on Terranuts what happened so that explains the quality issue. I looked at the 800x600 version and there is a big difference - a worthy winner and an excellent image ;-)

The oversharpening issue was noticed, but after having accidentally overwritten the (big) oringinal, I was left with the 800x600 version. Actually, I don't know why I didn't put that one instead of this stupid 1024 resize :-)

Excellent render, espically the lighting, however I have to agree with engineer on the compression and the sharpness of the image. 2 in a row is a great achievement. =)
