"The Slow Awakening" is a novel by Catherine Marchant, better known as Catherine Cookson, one of my favourite authors. "In the mid-1850's, life for an orphan was grim, as Kirsten Macregor discovered when her parents died suddenly on a journey to Northumberland, leaving her penniless. Somehow, Kirsten survived her terrible childhood - only to be sold, at the age of fourteen, to a travelling tinker - " Credits: Kozoburo, Poserworld, Daz3d, RDNA, Helmut(3dxra), Virtually Historical, Amazing Grace Texture, Sams3D, shawl painted in Photo Impact.
