A very manly look at the rebar.

In the U.S. "ironworkers" do rebar. They have padded shoulders on their shirts, and go through a healthy number of gloves and shoes just handling it and walking on it. They have both strength and endurance, and are highly skilled. Many of the strongest and most enduring of them have huge beer bellies (replenishing liquid and calories)which are not to be mistaken for, well, whatever it is fashionable to mistake beer bellies for nowadays....
