Thank you all, I made this aircraft for a pilot who flew The SB2c on the Franklin in WWII
Sesh
If you noticed an increase in #of views on your Helldiver renders it was me admiring it. Wonder if your pilot friend trained at NASKA (Kahului)?

Hey Sesh, Im not sure, I sent him a email and Im sure I'll know as soon as he reads it.

Ok here's what I got, He first trained in N3Ns at Lake Ponchatrain near New Orleans in early 1942. Advanced training in SNJs and SNVs at Pensacola and on to OS2U Kingfishers. In 1943 he went to Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn to fly anti-sub patrols in Kingfishers. In January 1944 VB80 formed at Wildwood, NJ and that was his first experience with SBDs. He said it was a rough transition from the Kingfisher in a squadron where some pilots had been trained already in Bucaneers and Dauntlesses, while he and some buddies were simply thrown in the deep end. By February 1944 they were already transitioning to the Helldiver. They alternated both planes until March 1944. The dive bomber, torpedo and fighter squadrons in Air Group 80 then rendezvoused at Oceana for final workouts before joining Ticonderoga.
