Description

This image is for my daughter she is 11 and came home from school yesterday in tears - she had had a fight with a friend and all the other girls felt they had to take sides and she was left to play alone. My normal reaction would have been to comfort her and think that is just kids being kids except I realize that this isn't just a kids thing recent events in my life shows it to be adult behaviour as well. Only difference is that kids bounce back way quicker lol This is a strange world and I am blessed with some very real and true friends I pray that never changes :o) Thanks for looking Chris :o)

Truth hurts sometimes, but seems to make us stronger in the end. True friends are hard to find and this man cherishes them all but forgets to show that enough. My thoughts go out to Mikayla as she goes back to school in the morn the she has enough confidence in herself to keep her chin up and anger in check. Lovely portrait by the way:)

HAving lived abroad and thencoming back tothe uk my kids had one helluva time integrating into the school system here .Karl the eldest in particular as he has that slightly american globalised english accent. All I can say is that if it doesn't kill you it makes you stronger... D

You're so true Chris, unfortunately those are not only "kids things" a lot of people that you considered once your friends, want you to do things as they wish you to, otherwise, they try to put you as the worse person in the world so no others will get close to you... but, what the heck!? we should know how much we're worth and that we're better than all those stupid that attract people talking Sh$! about you... LOL sorry for all this, I know you don't understand but I found here the perfect place to say it! LOL Cheers Chris!! :) Kisses to you and your daughter!! I'm sure you're both wonderful people and don't deserve stupid people around you ;)

Very profound statements ma'am. And, sad to say so true. Very hard lessons to be learned in life by all of us. Hugz to both Mikayla and her most wise and understanding Mom :)

Boy.. This is a very nice image.. I'm glad I'm oblivious to half of the ills of the world or the tiny ills of what one percieves as negative stuff or misunderstandings, I guess you measure your adultness by how many grains of salt you can take..or how strong your chin is. Sometimes even children find that out and become more mature than we so called grown ups. Sometimes there is just too much pettiness out there.. and maybe I have no clue what I'm talking about.. but from the above messages.. I'm surmising there's been a misunderstanding somewhere and hope it all gets worked out and things can go back to nice nice.. *puts my rose colored glasses back on and steps down off my soap box.. then kisses the freckled nose of Shalea, because she might be smarter than the lot of us.

Great portrait Chris!! Shalea is one of my favorite characters. I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. School and other kids can be very rough but with help from friends we usally manage to get thru it and that positive times outweigh the bad.

This is just so beautiful and even more touching knowing it's for your daughter. I echo what others have said in that she's so fortunate to have a wonderful Mom such as you. Unfortunately, I've been there done that, during the years my children grew up, and though it's so difficult to see, children do learn the meaning of true friendship. You, my friend, have nothing to worry about, nor does your little girl. (((HUGS))) to you both for you're both so great! This is just one awesome portrait!

My way of dealing was to choose the underdog,to be the friend of those others didn't want to friends with...to choose the weaker team knowing my own strength and putting the smartasses that thought they were better than other kids on the ground after running through them for a touchdown to help my team win.You tell your girl not to run away from her problem, run through or over it...make the other kids wish they had been nicer to her:)

Hugs to Mikayla and you both. And you're right, sometimes adults can be more childish than children! She'll get over it, that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger - believe me, I know!
Excellent portrait, Shalea has the most beautiful eyes!
