Description
This was one of my first really high definition pencil sketches. I saw a picture of the Pope on the cover of "US News & World Report" and I thought that would be a better birthday present for my Father than a naked chick, hehe. I spent quite a while on that one..... and then went back to drawing nudes :)
However, I always felt I captured something really emotional in this drawing, not just in a religious sense, but in a human sense. Being able to physically have the skill to draw is important, but more important is to be able to capture an emotion or moment. I hope I was able to do that with this drawing.

I drew this image when I was 20 years old as a present for my Father. The Pope was a great man and it was my honor to have been able to draw him. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
