Description

Doing a render for any level of true "realism" is a difficult thing for me...If its not the clouds, its the water..(Look above) textures too strong, layered wrong...well whatever... I tried and this is my result... I love the POV, now I just have to go back and re-arrange the surface mapping and change the surf... Any comment you guys could give me to help me with the surf plugin for water would be greatly appreciated, Thanks for viewing I hope you all enjoy my attempt at reality... -Aaron T

Cool image, nonetheless. With surf and a river like this, less is more, imho. As a fantasy image, this rocks!

IT's true the POV is wonderful, and although it doesn't quite achieve realism (partially because of the postwork) this work is really stunning, truely

At least you are the harshest critic of your own work - it's the only way to improve. This one has many redeeming qualities in spite of what you have pointed out. Sky is actually very good except for the big sun. Surface layers are nicely distributed & textured. Suggest only to alternate smooth & rough layers + varying degrees of fractalization. It is not always easy and sometimes you discover genius by sheer accident...

I agree with all above, the pic is beautiful even if not as realistic as you would have wished...
My suggestions :

  • Try increasing haze
  • Change the sun color to a light one (too much orange I think)
  • Try increasing the saturation of the grass layers
  • I never use water in my pics so I don't know which parameters must be changed, but you should try to increase its transparency...
    I hope it helps a little :)

Excellent Atmo/Mood! Just a tip! Maybe leave the sun out of view or bring it fully to the scene. That's what was suggested to me a while back so just passing it on. :o)
