Description

I wanted to make somethig complex without a meaning, sort of a picture I had in my head... Modeled with maya, rendered (for 2.5 hours) with mental-ray.

A modern version of the iron maiden? Great modeling job & very realistic metalwork.

OK, i'll be a bit more critical here ;) Shaders are far from perfect. textures are brilliant, but you somehow forgot to apply diffuse maps (or i am mistaken?). That will help to make dirty metal... I also would expect a bit more reflection.... and a bit different spectular, it looks like coated metal :> Lightning is good. I would personally use raytraced shadows, or at least a bit more soft ones... and as far as presentation is concerned i would certanly use DOF... But great, realy great modelling, i can not imagine how many poligons this scene has... Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments... about my work, most of the effort I invested in modeling, about the shaders except for texturs and bump, I didnt play alot with the defult settings, nor the rendering setting for raytrace shadows. but i did use them. but i will try to add the thing you mention (vuce). for the poly count it stands for 175767 faces

Thank goodness its chained down. Not something that the Teletubbies would use well at least not on tv. Cool picture.

For whaT it is, it looks good. Dont worry about the shader stuff. it IS posible that metal dont get dirty. Good job on the lighting.
