Description

We adopted Jax when he was a year old. He had been brought up in a dysfunctional environment ... spent most of his life in a cage. When we brought him home, it took three days just for him to be comfortable coming out of his kennel. Slowly, but surely, he became part of the family, and got comfortable with our other Sheltie, Abigail. Although he remained shy and a bit nervous, he bonded very closely with me, and would never leave my side. He even had his own pillow on my bed. :-) Jax had the softest fur of any Sheltie I had. We went on to get two more Shelties, and he was naturally the leader of the "pack." :-) Thursday morning, Jax managed to get out of our fence in the backyard ... the gate had not been latched securely, and he slipped through. Something must have gotten his attention across the road, and he was hit by a car right in front of our house. He did not suffer ... he was small, only 23 lbs. at best, and the impact had to have killed him instantly. A police officer had taken him, before I even got a chance to see him ... for that, I am thankful ... I only want to remember him as he was ... beautiful, loyal, a joy to play with and always the happiest to see me when I came home with licks and kisses. I will miss him so much.

I am very sad for you rhi and I understands what you can feel because I also lost a dog in the age of 5 years further to a surgical operation. Very Sorry For Your Loss

Our Furry Friends Do Become Such A Part Of Our Life.
They Are Our Children, Our Friend, Our Very Comfort.

A Terrible Emptiness Is Felt When They Are Absent,

But The Memories Theyve Made In Our Hearts, Is Ever With Us.

Their love is always unconditional. Even if you are incorrect with them, they always return loving you. They use forget the bad things in a simple hug. What a world this would be if people could love like they do! I'm deeply sorry for your loss! It's a shame that the most pure things on Earth only last for a split second.
