Description

Hi there, here's a 3D environment matte, which I finished up lately. The hexagonal stone formations and the watersurface are entirely done with Cinema 4D, the clouds and birds are painted with Corel Painter. Some colour tweakings I've realised in Photoshop. I was not sure about the lighting, but finally I've chosen a warm afternoon sun. Hope you like it . . . I'd be happy about some constructive critics and helpful comments! Cheers, Daniel

An amazing piece. You really got the mats and lighting spot on. If i must give critics, then ild say the boat are leaning a little too much. Nothing that stops me from giving the piece an excellent though... :)

Very, very good! Maybe the colour of the stones is a bit too yellow and too uniform (and perhaps with too strong specular value), but nevertheless a great image!

Thanks for your comments! "If i must give critics, then ild say the boat are leaning a little too much."
That boat went into trouble, trying to reach that Island . . .

"and perhaps with too strong specular value" ... maybe, I've overdone it with those highlights ;) Regards, Daniel

Looks very much like a place in that third Myst game. Excellent work! The ship sinking in the background is the perfect touch.
