This looks like a Black vine weevil .They have done much damage to trees in this area lately . Great pic , bad bug . Smush it .

WOW Thanks Laurentiu !!! This is a wonderful beetle, never seen it though... maybe earthman236 is right about it being a black vine weevil. Please dont smush it !! I would rather smush earthman than the beetle LOL (just kidding earthman :oP) Excellent shot and very nice detail !! V
