Well you are a lot braver than I am getting this close. It is a great looking shot, you can see some of their hairs standing up as well. Just be happy that they appear to be well fed!

They seem oblivious to you even being there. You probably could have walked right up to them.I wouldn't but thats why I said "you".Actually the photo kind of looks neat with the grain.
Ladyhawk
the grain is that stupid tinted window on the bus, they see buses all day long it's like a train of them hooked together,so they don't even pay attenion, superised this time though there was a young babboon on top of the bus right in front of us peeing off the bus,of course you can imagen over 30 kids from 2.5 yrs - 5years old after seeing that it was complet chaos on the bus while I tried very hard to get the shot & fit all of them in it,it was my oldest grandsons daycare trip and yes these & all the animals at African Lion Safarie are very well cared for, all the elephants they have were abuse in crcusis were about to be shot,so these guys took them worked with them gave them room, and they go swimming in the lake about 3-4 times a day, they even like to play in the snow, which shocked me,they do breed some of the indangered spieces there oh you should have seen the rhino's they were in a battel to far aaway for a shot but they made a buffalo very angry and he head butted the 1 in the butt, it was so funny the rhino shocked ,was very put off by it so both rhino's took off with they'er noses out of joint, boy are they stuck up lol , & thank you all, I was safe in a bus you can see part of the seat in the corner lol ;0)
SNAKEY
This is surely a family potrait......There is this male and then the Female lioness nd the kids......... Excellent shot even from he tint glass.:O)) and considering you were in a tinted bus, I think the grains adds to the mood.;)

A nice piece of glass separating you from these predators - it's quite a difference, else we would not have been able to enjoy your pictures, Tina! Excellent shot!

real good love it I read if you come up on a lion in the jungle in a open jeep he will not attace you he will think you a part of the jeep. But you step out of the jeep and apart from it the loin will be on you. ;he know then you not part of the jeep.
