A darkness fell upon the Earth; A blackness matched by the color of their massive motherships that cruised, effortless and deadly, into low Earth orbit. The ISS was their first target, followed by the satellite networks, then the helpless shuttles, no match for them regardless--in space or on the ground, they sat there squatting like fat bugs on terra firma where they were burned down to the tarmac from the sky. Within a day, the armies of the world, from the superpowers to the smallest island nation, were laying down what arms remained intact. The Xynth had come to Earth.
