Description

My heart misses you I know...I know Perhaps you find that Hard to believe But given time you will Understand the depth Of my words. I miss the sparkling sound of your laughter with mine, It never fails to brighten my darker moments of doubt. Why can't we have our usual... ...sunny picnics at the Quabbin ...moonlit walks at Hampton Beach ...shopping in Manhatten ...a night out in Boston? Why must it now always be... ...quick phone calls ...hurried luncheons ...canceled dates ...loud crowds? When can we talk About our hearts' desires And the goals we have apart As well as together? I saw a woman today Having a one-sided conversation by a gravestone. Please don't let that be us...please... copyright 1988

You know..it's almost spooky...it feels like you have walked into my brain and read all the thoughts there. It's incredible!!!!!

Well said. Seems that people today often have this problem with understanding that the time we have here for each other has a limit.Your poem makes one think.

A very interesting structure which works very well [lists can often be boring - but not here]. The ending is particularly pointed and reflects back into the body of the poem as all the best endings do. v

Oh, does this ever grab the heart! You've done such an amazing job in giving the reader deep words to think on and the sadness of one who doesn't feel that closeness to their love. Awesome!

You really pack a lot of emotion in your poems - simple and yet a straight shot to the heart. And your endings always bring it all together. Wonderful writing. :o) CC
