Description

Rescue me Oh take me in your arms Rescue me I want your tender charms 'Coz I'm lonely and I'm blue I need you and your love too I guess people go on holidays for fun, culture, sun, relaxing etc. etc. etc. I think that a lot of time we close our eyes or turn our head from less beautiful things we see on our trips abroad. This dog (on Paros, Greece) was hiding in the shadows on a terras of a scenic view. The waiter (one that brings the drinks) claimed it was his dog. But every time he passed us by you could tell by it's behaviour that the dog was afraid of the man. We melted some icecubes and gave the dog a drink and finaly left. Now back in the civiliced(?) Netherlands, the pictures of this dog represents all the dogs a cats that we came across in the 15 days of our stay. Cats and dogs abandoned by their former owners. Cats and dogs that breed out in the street producing even more animals. Cats and dogs that by those same people are poisened cause they produce to much trouble. Those cats and dogs are sold in books and on postcards and calenders as a remarkable landmarks of civiliced Greece. Hope the Olympic Games will be a financial succes and that there are some leftovers for the animals of Greece. As always: feel free to comment. Eddy.

this is absolutly stunningly beautifull shot,I've cared for animals my whole life, this makes me cry to, you can see the hurt, pian and loss in his beautifull eyes, you should send this to national geographics tell them what you saw,I bet they would want more, send it to an animal rescue group how can people be so bloody crule!! they should put his face on a poster so people will think before they what you call a throw away dog, boy did this hit a nerve, (V)!! :0) @-}--

A compelling shot! I work with an organization that rescues dogs without homes, and finds permanent place for them. I know this problem all to well. Thanks.
