Description

This image was derived from DEMS from the Glacier National Park in Montana. The terrain was huge (4097x4097, 32 Mb !!!)and demanded a lot of my P4 !!! The riverbed gravel was done with suggestions from Markal (Thanks Mark !)and the water took me forever to get the effect seen on this image. Hope it was worth it ! Total render time with all the bells and whistles at max with a 4000x3000 size: 15 hours (well 30 hours if you count the loss of electricity with a lightning strike after which I finally put a battery backup, after years of thinking I should eventually do it !!!!!!!)! Thank you for viewing and commenting and have a great weekend ! Bonne fin de semaine

This is a fantastic view. Love the pebbled riverbed showing thru the water.

La transparence et l'overlay de l'avant-plan sont superbes mais les rives paraissent artificielles. Un reme : ever la cama mais adieu la belle transparence ou laircir l'eau.

Wow, a lot of hard work went into making this. The terrain, lighting and water transparency all perfect.

Excellent, Mark is a good teacher, and I love his and your stream overlays. Very cool image and water, especially worth the effort.

A very effective overlay Paul...some day I will get the hang of it. I also had several crashes due to my old battery back-up failing. With a new one, I'm back in business. This is excellent work!!!

This looks completely like the region. You should have put it in the photo gallery! Nobody would know the difference.
