It was a time when the English speaking designers were interested in IRS. the Corvette and Cobra allso took on this holy grail rejecting the DeDions of Mercedes and the swing axles of Corvair and Volkswagen. Perhaps that is irrelevant to the cat like lines for there is too much truth in ideals.
