Description

The second in the series (actually made first). There is a third, I'll probably post it as well. I'm taking a 'Renderosity Break' and I'll be away in large lapses, as I just was. Time is a big problem right now. I'll be around but not as often, at least for a while. Don't be offended if I fail to comment on a great piece of art, chances are I'll come back to it. Take care all!

Colors and feel of a Russian or Byzantine icon, the cultures of either making even the most consciously outrageous "surrealism" look homey and cozily domestic by comparison. The checkered pattern is subtlein affairs such as this, chessplayers thrive and if they do Dada or Surreal or Fauve they tend to do all from a new prospect, engineer their checkmates (which few see until decades later), and move on with straight-faced, wry comedy and a sense of surprise, leaving the herd to clean up the absurd.

Reminds me of a phase in was in once about carving backgrounds for stamps using a planishing hammer. My mind seized on the East German flag as having a planishing hammer different from the Soviet hammer model.
