Description

"The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter, It isn't just one of your holiday games; At first you may think I'm as mad as a hatter When I tell you a cat must have Three Different Names." T. S. Eliot (1888 - 1965) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is my Dad's cat Dinky, lying in the sunshine waiting for the next meal. Well, we call him Dinky, but we don't know what his two other names are. He adopted my Dad a few years ago, and now has him running after his every whim. A bit tricky for my Dad, because he's 83 years young. A typical conversation between them goes something like this : Dinky : "Cat Food! you know I don't eat cat food. Fetch me some salmon or a nice piece of chicken and I might, just might, let you play with me." Dad : "OK Sir!" Still, he's a lovely old boy, and the cat's not bad either! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've cropped, re-sized and used painting effect from PhotoSuite to soften the image. Thank you for looking and for any comments you leave, I really appreciate them. Gordon ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A Most Beautiful story about your dad and his friend Dinky. I have a cat that will soon be 16 and he is so loveable and caring. Cats make Extra sweet pets. Tell your dad that I said hi to him and his friend dinky. Excellent image. :))))

That's a lovely one! The dappled sunlight on the brickwork looks great, so cute the way he's arranged his hind legs and tail! A master stroke?!

Great story and a wonderful cat. I can really picture that scene taking place. Nice use of the painting effect, it really makes Dinky seem content and peaceful, certainly the lord of the house as all cats are.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who believes in that "cats have three names" idea. :) I have three cats myself and I adore them all. This is a beautiful image that really captures the comfort that Dinky must have been feeling lying there in the sun. Makes me want to reach out and pet him. Excellent model and excellent end result. :)
