Description

The forgotten graveyard. Welcome to my new series! Well, the central cemetery of vienna again, but this time from a very different view. I knew there is a hidden and forgotten part of the cemetery, but I didn't know the location exactly. I found it by accident. The story of this part of the cemetery, a free translation from a guidepost: [...] "Since the end of 1991 volunteers of Vienna are working for the reconstruction and conservation of the Jewish cemetery, to help the very few surviving dependants of the Holocaust. 60.000 graves at 260.000 square meters are too much work for 7.000 Jews who survived. We will need 300.000 hours of work to master this job." [...] This subject matter is too important and difficult to comment it in anyway, so neither I will comment it with my own words nor I will grant any comments. It's a bit like a "one minute silence". Please enjoy the pictures and make your own thoughts about the subject matter. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards, Ikarius. Fujifilm FinePix S7000. F 3.1, 1/320s, ISO 200, FL 210mm. Some "diffuse glow" with Photoshop.
