I just loved this sundial at Madingley Hall in Cambridge; it's such a beautiful setting! It's ironic because you get lost in these gardens and really don't care what time it is anyway! Time I know that everything under the sun decays, It is only a matter of time. A life can be measured with a number of days, But to do so seems a crime. In time strong and sturdy buildings fall, In time the lilies die, In time aging overtakes us all, In time the rivers run dry. But Time, I am not afraid of you, I will take each day as it comes. Although life is a frantic zoo, I will rejoice and beat my drum. I shall overcome, for though buildings decay A great name shall never fade away. By Jennifer Martin (me)
