Description
Reef Life first started out as an image to showcase my Clown Trigger Texture map i created. The whole image sorta grew from there. With models from Runtime DNA as well as Daz3d. I did'nt originally intend to pack so much detail into the image but as i progressed the image craved more.
To create Reef Life i used Poser 4 for compostion and postioning, posing of models as the screen refresh speed is quicker. And Poser 5 for rendering. Each element was rendered seperatley with my own special light set-up which has a Caustic effect. This adds a very nice uneven highlight/ripple effect on the model surfaces.
After rendering all elements were brought into Photoshop 7 and composited together. With over 50 Layers it was a real struggle to finish as the computer got slower as i kept on adding more and more. Water effects and haze were generated in Post Production.
I was going to add alot of Depth of Field but after i thought about it i felt alot of the hard work i had put into this image would be lost in a blur. So i left it alone.
Enjoy.

I remember seeing the first color photograph of a clown trigger to appear in National Geographic back in the late fifty's or perhaps early sixty's. Done by a member of Jacque Cousteau's dive team I believe. An extraodinarily colored fish without peer. Good work!

I think it's a shame that more people don't take the time to look at images like this just because there isn't a nude woman in it. It's very hard to tell that this isn't a photograph, or even a composite with a background photo. Amazingly real and well worth the work you put into it. ::vote::
