Don't let whoever this is scare you away! Your work is great and your detractor wouldn't know good art if it bit him in his untalented, um, posterior. This is a very sad day indeed. As you know, it was your beautiful work that inspired me to try my hand at fractals in the first place. Each piece of art you created was exquisite, and well worthy of the Hot 20. I have to agree with everyone else before me. Do NOT let this miscreant ruin things for you. You can tell by the many comments on your work that you are well loved here in this community, and extremely talented as well. This news saddens me greatly, first for the pain unjustly caused to you and second because I would very greatly miss your work, style and inspiration were you to cease participation. While I understand you may feel the need to take a "breather", I ask you to think about how much poorer the world would be had any of the great artists or scientists ceased their contributions because of unkind statements or unjust criticisms. And while you might not see the greatness of your artistry, the rest of us do and value it for its beauty, creativity and the inspiration it brings to all of us. Not my kind of picture, but its simply beautiful. ENVY can be and its one of the worst things in the world and that's what its behind that IM. Never let the critic of third ones stop you from doing what you like to do and what you do perfect.

Please, Thelma, please reconsider... The fact that your work ends up in the hot20 means that people like it enough to vote for it. That is hardly your fault, is it ??!! If this was me, I think that the best way to solve this kind of behavior is just to name and shame. Post that IM in the fractalforum, with the name of the sender, and let us have our say about it there. And to show MY bad character, BIG V ...grin... Now, please stay ? Pretty please ;-))

Well, I am late, as usual, and everyone else has already said it perfectly. Thelma, I hope you don't let this petty jealousy ruin your happiness and creativity. And I certainly hope you won't leave R.!! We all love your work and your flames reach the h20 because others voted you there, and believe they belong there! I heard a counselor give a speech once and she said that you alone choose when you wake up in the morning how you will feel that day. If you allow some jerk to upset you, make you mad, make you react in any unpleasant manner to something they did or said, then you are allowing that person to rule your life that day. That's easy to say, but harder to live by. But I hope you will reconsider based on all the comments and try to ignore the one bad apple and keep creating and sharing. We've all had our share of IM's or nasty public comments in the past. But most of us are still here. I hope you'll decide to stay, as well. Hang in there!

Please, Thelma, do not give up. We are all with you.
