bigbradder..you are incorrect..it IS an alpha plane and atmosphere by deadhead rendered in Vue.

  • Well, kenwas, silly me for being so prejudiced! (So that people may know what I'm talking about, I've pasted the previous (deleted) silly comment here: --- "This is an exquisite composition with lots of subtle details, in the RENDER. ---- But, REALLY, photo backdrops?????? You've done this pretty much lately (together with several others). IMHO it's a contradiction of rendering. Photo backdrops are what the users of, say, Poser and Cinema4D are stuck with, lacking more or less the proper tools. And, in fact, I think you lack ambition (this sarcastic sentence is to be taken with a friendly smiley): Photorealism can be achieved much more convincingly by just rendering an alphaplane photo - then you'd not even have to worry about lighting and texturing etc. and it'll still be a Vue render! How about that?") This obviously doesn't apply to this work at all, but my general point of view still stands, though. And now - a vote:)

Well now.... I have got to agree with bigbraader. It seems as tho so many people are turning to aplha for atmospheres. Granted....you still need to have composition to make it work, which by the way Ken you compositions are always spoton. This is an awesome render and I too will vote for it.

It is indeed a very fine composition. And I believe most people just waiting for Vue allowing them to make skies with really beautiful clouds with volume (and not just planes).

i agree with firebolt: people are turning 'coz real sky photo can be really better than vue's atmo... and in image like kenwas'image portion of sky is always really important... if my image is better with an alpha plane sky... i use alpha plane sky :) now this incredible image with my castle !! my castle isa a model not an alpha plane, but kenwas rendered it like a photo !!

Wow Ken, seems you've turned into the Damien Hirst of the Vue Gallery, your work dogged by controversy!! LOL - no offence intended - great work as usual!

amazing render but in my opinion the clouds are too big in camparison to other objects in the scene.
