My favorite fortune cookie, ever, said:

EVENTUALLY"

Mark Twain made some comments about self taught and I agree ... and it is not a "plan" *LOL* ...
It's supposedly more interesting perhaps ... bujt I don't recommend it ... and it adds up to nothing

Except that I was just reading recent stories about survival against all odds, and they have an impish tendency to begin with a moment just this simple.

I think I would jump to a shot like this too! Colours like pink and greybrown are common in nature and this although contrasting, looks quite natural. I smile imagining you hunting these objects on the beach(like big game, or your namesake) armed with camera!

I find myself surrounded everywhere with photographs in every square inch of Creation ... I have a lot like this one although maybe it is a little blatant, the overcast helped as much as it dimmed ... one thing that is unfortunately missing is a sense of scale - these are a child's boots (presumably a little girl's) temporarily abandoned alone on the beach, and the missing story I wonder about would find and follow the little feet that belonged in them.

Andrew Wyeth did a painting, 'his boots', i believe it's called. Same thing. Tells a story. Wyeth has to be one of my favorites. He's a study in contrasts. Simplicity and amazingly complex detail. He'd probably love the colors in this. Muted but shocking.

I would go with the first story, probably a legendary Roc, swooped down and yanked the little girl right out of her boots!

one can assume they belong to a kid... off to frolick in the sand & surf!! like this in that there's more to it or can be... like i wanna pr that color! ;] ...ok... reading the comments now... yep, seems i wasn't the only one to see a story... you captured what you yourself were thinking... i'm rambling now, it's going to be a long night...

L Well ~ photos (or art) don't make themselves! The trick becomes, to get what you are thinking, and, get a decent photo.

I have to say I love it that a pair of empty boots is managing to be all about the Story, so then the image couldn't be more successful! Meanwhile ~ I'll have what Eric is having!
