Description
Modeling: Bryce4 Terrain Editor
Rendering: Bryce4
Inspiration: 1) Ayers Rock and 2) a scene out the window as I a blew through Nevada in a 280Z at sunset clocking about 125mph of pavement back in the early 80's.
Concept: I know this isn't Sci-Fi enough for most of you, but I wanted to re-create the barren reality.
Creation: The terrain was easy, 1) used 3 terrains, 2) eroded each to different strengths and fine tuned the finished terrain in the terrain editor. The harder part was the lighting - I worked long and hard to capture the reality of what I saw (ie: percieved).

Having done the trip thru Nevada that you describe (blowing thru at 100+), I would have to agree youve captured it spot on. :)

In Geological physics, the landscape I've created cannot possibly exist...but then - that's why we have 3D.
