Description
As dusk climbs
twilight trellis,
nocturnal moonflowers
unfurls her flowering petals
posing...
beneath a stardust canvas~
Dream scented boquets
spills moon petal musk
kissing...
an incandescent waft~
Before dawn dispels
her orchid halo and hides
folds fading tendrils
of nocturnal veils~
Stolen fragrance
her perfume
created...
by the moon's
cheek~
These flowers are most known for their aromatic fragrance, I grow them every year, and indeed the aroma is exotic....This pic is not mine,compliments of www.google.com

Being nocturnal myself I can appreciate these flowers. Down here in the south my yard is filled with honeysuckle and jasmine in the night air...as it grows wild along the hedgerows...I will have to introduce this intriguing flower! Thank you, your words paint a glorious photo!

What a lovely poem. Moonflowers - how romantic. In one of my novels I wrote about a Bakala blossom that blooms only at night by the light of the moon, and it, too, has a powerful fragrance. Wonderful writing and it's great to see you posting images with your words. :o) CC
