my attempt a subtle, realistic caustics. . .they might be too hard to see.

They arn't too subtle. But then, I don't think most people would know what to look for. It looks great man!

One day I will know what "caustics" are other than being acids & alkalis. What I do see is the surface variations on the cliff walls. Excellent beach work & superb mood!

M. Monet, please return to the 2D Gallery and do not bring your Impressionist masterpieces here. Seriously, this is so bathed in luminescence and texture, the caustics tend to get lost under the waves. No matter, the subject is this glorious landscape and it shines.

Nice pov, lighting, surface and water - I think you might have oversharpened this one - we might be able to see the caustics more easily with just one sharpening pass? Lovely pic though!

Agree with Buzzzzz. Markal has done some nice work with this technique on lake bottoms. And once saw caustics used for water reflections on cliff sides. This image doesn't need it but it is fun to play with. Excellent++
