the night is raining
quietly
further away
ÂÂ
I'm standing
in front of my window
naked
nothing to hide
ÂÂ
I feel some raindrops
burning my eyes
my cheeks
my chin
ÂÂ
somewhere
there's a light
people are surviving
ÂÂ
somewhere
far away
ÂÂ
maybe
ÂÂ
it's you

Constant change can be tiring, but I wouldn't be able to stand non-change without dying of boredom. Beautiful image Dirk, a masterpiece =)

Love the details on this, the way it tumbles from the screen

OH! I really love the textures and geometric shaped shapes on this! The background shows it off wonderfully too! ....BUT...it's not gigantic Dirk!! lol q-: Fantastic work! V (:

Terrific work for sure. Great depth and a unique spiral! I, too, am tired. And old, almost at times an old fart, a curmudgeon according to my wife. I hated Windows when it first came out and kept using DOS until I had to change. While I have nothing against technology and own cell phones and several computers, some of which actually work, change for the sake of change itself, change as a fashion statement, change as a way of parting us from our money, is meaningless and wasteful. We now have a generation of young people that can't sit still for a 50 minute class or understand what they are reading. The remote control, the mouse, the game controller offer instant feedback while a teacher explaining the basic principles of math or science is boring and for the most part ignored. Without change these images we all love so much would be but a dream for most, but I don't need a cell phone that also works as a credit card and camera. Sorry for the rant but your image and poem really invoked a strong reaction from me!

This is a very interesting and unique image. I keep looking at it and it stirs something inside me, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Your verse also is thought provoking. And I liked what 'redbeard' said and agree.

This is a impressive job my friend....!! Have a point of view very spectacular....!! The combination of shapes produce a construction of beautiful surrealism....!! The effect in 3d, the depth, perspective, relief they add their contribution so that the work has an excellent unit....!! This fractal has a great realization work....!! I cannot stop to mention the textures and colors, as well as the final graphic aspect that him are of great beauty....!! This is a splendid work Dirk, for that reason he has my voto

Heel speciaal, abstract, maar ik zie er eindeloze trappen in die leiden naar een andere wereld! Proficiat Dirk! V

I love the concrete like texture of this piece except the area of change...as it changes it becomes almost slick during the process. Once it's over it's back to the more solid concrete. A wonderful view of the morphing process...great choice of background. As for the sentiment...same here. ;o)

Just plain AWEsome!

A most powerful, dynamic and evocative image statement. The colors, texturing - even the cog-like fins on the spirals evoke a strong sense of implacability and inevitability. Maybe that's what we're reacting to. Very strong stuff this. Great art! VOTE Rik

Another masterpiece. your style is really unique!

Love this one! The verse is almost as good as the image. The fractal has color, and presence. It has an impact and does so in a shape, form and color.

Wonderful image Dirk, I love the designs and the shapes, excellent spiraling!

Super work, Dirk. Gentle and sad message here. I too, feel that way. The best part about it, is that these days it doesn't seem to matter as much to me any more. The older I get the more I realize that we really don't take anything with us but what we are. I hope that in the here after you have plenty of time to make these beautiful images of yours....and I hope I have plenty of time to look at them. This looks like sand painting, by the way. The colors are wonderful, as usual. I constantly say that, I know...but you choose them well.

oooh wow, how totally gorgeous is this one? :):) VERY!!!

...this has got to be the best textured and most three dimensional fractal I've ever seen. Wonderful image and great presentation...

I'm with redbeard wrt gratuitous change. On the other hand, if it ever really stopped, we would stagnate very quickly. BTW, I love the fractal.
leda_moon
Excellent artwork!!wonderful image!!V

You don't have to keep up with everything. As long as you do not stagnate (stagnation is death) you still live. And your art does not seem to stagnate in my eyes :-)
classyladytwo
*V Dirk there is no way your art work could ever become stagnate its just to awesome maybe its just time for a break if you really think your artwork isn't coming out the way you want, it certainly is for the rest of us though fabulous as always

DIRK it's a pendulum swinging through life and yes it feels like foucaults pendulum sometimes art never keeps prisoners it is there to free your life and enrich it some live through their art some live by their art indeed some are lived by their audience it's you who initiates and you who has the controls amazing combination of a free dancing spiral being born out of a brick let's set it free so it does not evolve back into the matter it just broke free from ve
CavalierLady
Oh I missed this one! So glad I saw it, it's wonderful! Colors, textures, 3D quality... you can just nearly reach out and touch that spiral! Awesome work!
PairOfPyros
Stunning abstract spiral, Dirk! The shape and textured colors are perfect. I think this is one of your best, so far!
