Hmm...thanks for educating me :-) Had to look the title up. Yes, it has an air of youth, glad you included the frame. I love all those weaved in symbols, great drawing! Btw, i have not read Hesse's Demian, maybe I should, but maybe I am too old :-)

You Gun - are never too old. Not for Hermann Hesse - and not for Demian - Even though it is the story of the growing up process of a young man - connecting to the deeper meaning of life - symbolized by ABRAXAS - or Phoenix - who is reborn constantly out of his/her own ashes. This book (like Siddharta, Narciss and Goldmund or Steppenwolf) literally saved my live - in times when I felt crazy or alien those books showed me a way towards a sane and meaningful life. This drawing looks quite serious and a little bit depressive - but believe me: In those days we laughed our heads off. Thank you.

I see peacocks, snakes, one phoenix, moon and sun, many, many things, but I didn't see three noses, just two of them. Where had the third one gone? Just kidding :) Great job there. I like this kind of intricate artwork. In 76 I was just start going to school...
