Description
IN THIS IMAGE WE CAN SEE THE "CHILEAN GARZA".
I LOVE IT BECAUSE I COULD FIND WHERE IT HIDES ITS LEG.
THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN AT THE CHILEAN METROPOLITAN PARK ZOO WITH A SONY CIBERSHOT CAM.
I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT AND I APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS.

EXCELLENT PICTURE. I WONDER WHERE DO THEY HIDE TE LEG? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO BEND SO MUCH THE LEG? AND ALSO HOW CAN THEY KEEP A SO PERFECT BALANCE WITH ONLY ONE LEG? ;) Z.

The one leg is "hidden" up out of the water so only one leg at a time loses body heat into the water -- when it gets cold, they switch; They stand out in the water for protection from predators. They can keep balance on one foot easily because the single webbed foot is relatively huge, like a wide pedestal.
SNAKEY
If I notice right, they all seem to have a tag on their legs. ;)

Oh wow, excellent capture. I always find it so interesting how they can hide their leg so well, and still stand around. Excellent job.
