Description

Inspired by Meico's poetry from his mother and to his child, I wanted to write something to my son. I did the drawing of him last year (for anyone who might think the picture is familiar, it was posted in my artwork gallery online last year). My dear child, How do I express A feeling so phenomenal That all descriptive words Seem suddenly quite useless? Your presence in my world Fills me with a joy That I never knew I could Or would ever be able to hold. Your sweet breath on my neck Warms my spirit as I Snuggle you close and wipe Those shiny droplets from your eyes. Your cleverness, Your logical view of the world, It astounds me in its wisdom Even at such a tender age. The moments (the honesty!) we share The laughter, and tears The adventures, the challenges we face, All of it - so precious, so irreplaceable. Always be who you are; Always be what you want to be; Always hold onto what matters; Always remember that I love you. You are an immensely bright spark In a sometimes otherwise dull world And I know that of all things, You, I will never regret.

Such beautiful words to your son. So tender and delicate and so full of love. He will cherish this when he is older. Your devotion and love show through every line. Wonderful piece!!

This is a most moving and loving tribute to your child. I agree with my friend pscott here .. it is a piece that won't be fully appreciated until he is older, and hopefully has children of his own when the full significance of a parents's love is known and cherished. Excellent work!

There is nothing in this world or the next that can take the place of a child's touch. The weight of their body in your arms gives you strength to move mountains when you think all hope is gone. You are truly gifted in many ways!

Your love and the warm childhood memories will be of great power to your child in the years to come. We are able to give to our children the greatest gift of all, our being there and our respect to them. Your poem is so beautiful ! Love it.
