Description

Ultafractal, photography Today I said goodbye to my little Yorkshire Terrier "Gizmo". He came in our animal shelter in december of 2000 as a stray dog. He was seriously underweight, had no skin left on his back, and his teeth were rotting in his mouth. It was decided that we should put him to sleep, as the vet found him 10years of age, and no-one would adopt him. Instead I took him home, and with a lot of TLC, and some surgery on his teeth, he became a beaty of a dog in less than 6 months. I thought that we would have him for 4 weeks, it became 4 years ;-) I used him as a petting dog, when our group of volenteers visit the elderly and demented in an old age home. He loved that kind of work, and was always gentle with those seniors. I'll miss you, my little friend ... Barbara, I know that this could be considered a MM image, and I'll move it to there if you want me to. Also, even if you should like this image, please DO NOT VOTE for it, it's just a simple farewell... Dirk

Oh Dirk I'm so sorry I know how you and your wife feel about your kids I say kids because to me they are not animals, what a wonderful tribute to a little guy who suffered so much and could have left years ago and you better not move it. Tributes can stay here gosh just think how lucky he was to have found you two and to be able to live a long full life. It is sad, yes and it hurts that he is now gone rest assured he'll live forever in your hearts. God Bless :)

Oh, what a sweetie Gizmo was! He looked like you nutured and loved him very much as he looked healthy and happy, nothing like the pitiful description of him when he came to your shelter. You saved his life and gave him 4 wonderful years, and he has given you all his love and many cherished memories. I'm sorry that you have yet another hole in your life, especially after losing Urchin not long ago. Blessings to you both. I'll light another candle for you and Gizmo tonight, my friend.

Dirk, I'm so sorry, this has brought tears to my eyes, for I know your pain! We had a rottweiler named Rylee, she was our baby! She died a couple of months ago, for no obvious reason! This is a wonderful image, and memory of little gizmo! You must have been especially chose for this sort of thing!

Oh, Dirk, I'm so very sorry. Urchin and Gizmo were very special creatures to have had a friend like you. The hardest part is being left behind when a beloved animal crosses the rainbow bridge.

Ohhh, Dirk, my heart aches so deeply for you...not another loving creature gone. You enriched each others lives and the time came, so hard to let go though. He is a happy little critter, it can be seen.
