BIOI was born in the 1950's in Tennessee, and have been here ever since. I like the blues, rock and roll, and a little bit of everything else; I also play guitar (badly). I have worked in about every medium there is, but almost stopped all traditional work when I discovered computer art. In 1986 (can't believe it was that long ago), I bought an Amiga 500 (remember them?). I used a paint program called Deluxe Paint and the first 3D program I used was called Silver- upgraded to Turbo Silver (no, really!) and the program eventually became Imagine. I switched over to the IBM PC compatable in 1995, because the capabilities finally eclipsed those of the Amiga. I now use Bryce, Poser and Photoshop Elements. In art, as in music, I like a little of everything, so I usually surf All Galleries. I recommend this to everyone, because if you limit your vision to only Poser gallery, only Bryce, etc., you may find that you are repeating yourself in your art. Shake it up, and render on!

That's really very nice. Very lifelike, and you've captured a great expression. The shadowing is very realistic.

A very good likeness(I think). You're much better at this than I am. Nice shading technique!
RodsArt
Quite good tjohn. I haven't picked up a pencil to draw in a loonnng time.

I like your shading technique, it gives a very energetic feel to the drawing :o) My only crit would be that the proportions are off - the right side of the face (as you look at it) is much wider than the left side. Also I kinda feel that the strong line around the neck of the sweater, and around the ear, pull those parts forward a bit too much. But wish I could draw that well......

Fantastic use of the cross-hatch... spot-on technique!

i like it! - pog...my son has the same shape of face with one side slightly wider than the other. It's a genetic thing. smile

be kind? How could we not...you did an incredible job...the shading is wonderful and you technique seems perfect...and you know...it looks a bit like Eric Clapton I think. I would comment on the face...but honestly as no person is perfectly porportioned I think it looks amazing..and also adds character...and a uniqueness to the face and honestly...um...I know we all have a unique look so..I say EXCELLENT JOB and *VOTE INCREDIBLE!!! :O)

Man... You get my vote TJohn... this is a very fine piece of work!!!! Especially in the sense that you haven't done a dedicated sketch in 20 yrs. Apparently you haven't lost your touch. It is a much better job at sketching than I can do for sure.

The look on your eyes says it all , that you've been working hard to produce such excellent art work. As far as I know that only the Masters draw them selves & when they do it they do it perfectly . Love your style . Vote
