Description
For my son Daniel
Every mother reaches the place in time when she has to trust that she did the very best that she could and as painful as it may be.... let go.
This is for my son Daniel as he gets ready to leave for Iraq. I know that he is a good, strong, smart and wonderful man and totally able to make good decisions and choices.
Know that my tears are because you go alone on a journey that I can't go along with you. A mothers instinct is to always protect and it's not easy to leave that in the hands of others in so dangerous a place.
So travel safe and stay strong, be all that is in you and always know that although I cant be there physically my heart and love are always with you.

I know every mom agrees with all you said, but that's what sons/daughters are meant to do... to fly by their own and prove the whole world they had a fantastic mom that showed them what's good and bad... Very touching and emotional ...especially your words. I have had close friends that have gone to iraq and it's surrounding borders and have a husband in law inforcement so I truely understand the fear and worry it brings...and the yearning to do what you can to protect him. It's the same instinct that made it so your child made it in life this far...please know that whatever he has to do while there and the desicions he will make will all come from the knowledge you bestowed in him and will help to keep him safe ...even in your physical absence you will be there with him in spirit.
