Description
Derek watches April cross the stone floor of the Great Hall, Vixen in tow, moving swiftly toward the wasteland and freedom. For a crazy moment he contemplates joining them.
The thought has occurred to him many times already, but this time, with April so nearby, the idea is more difficult to resist. He lets his mind indulge the fantasy - leaving the Temple forever, sleeping out under the stars, living adventures beyond his wildest dreams, being oh so close to April. But no, he sighs, shaking the fantasy out of his head; if Sinistra learned of his betrayal, her wrath would be terrible.
Lucistra steps noiselessly out of the shadows behind them.
Uncompromising and unseen, she stalks her prey with cat-like precision, skirting the walls of the hall, searching for the clearest shot. A soft hiss escapes her lips at the sight of April so close by, so unaware of her impending death.
With eyes aglow, Lucistra takes position and knocks her arrow, its devastatingly large, toxin-coated head levelled squarely at the back of April's neck. A light like orange fire surrounds her, the walls burning red with the power of her hatred.
"Goodbye 'April'," she snarls.
She draws the bow string.
A shadow appears behind her...

That greenish glow to her eyes is downright scary. And the DOF is well done. A little problem with the fingers of her right hand, the bowstring and the arrow, it appears that the bowstring should be pulled a tad more. The snarl on her face is fantastic! And the story is just perfect. Now I can't wait for the next episode - who is that shadow?
