I took this yesterday afternoon, took me ages to get it, holding my breath for long periods and moving veeeeery slooowly. have absolutely no idea what sort of butterfly it is...
anyone throw any light on it???
theres lots of the same pattern up where i live and they're incredibly eye-catching.

No idea, but what colors in those wings....

I've recently identified this particular Butterfly as a "Peacock" due toi the intense colouration on the wings, designed to confuse predators, it is a migratory 'fly and is allegedly only seen every 3-4 years in the UK...
