uh uh....I'm speechless....how did you get the water effect on the beach? This is amazing.

The water effect on the beach itself was used with a terrain, and a little bit of painting in photoshop (though I made a true Bryce version after the fact). It wasn't easy to get it to look right. Realistic coastlines are one of the hardest things to do. The whitewater coming in is actually a terrain! It worked out perfectly, though getting the coloring right took a very long time. The wave itself is a 3d object I made in Rhino a while back when I used to do wave studies (unrelated to art). Getting all colors to match was quite a challenge, especially with it being transparent and all. Glad I have the Pac ocean outside for reference!

This is honestly amazing. The water is absolutely great, of course, but it's the overall composition that really rocks. Perfectly balanced, marvelous atmosphere. On a scale form 1-10: 11 :)

well, the waves themselves deserve an excellent tag on this piece, the only thing i'm being a bit anal about is the lighting of the asteroid belt around that planet and the fact that you wouldn't see stars with such a strong sun (even at sunset). All the same, really sensible postwork and a great render :)

Not to dispute Drac, but it is a fantasy piece and seeing stars and sun together, I think, really works in this. I wouldn't be surprised to see a poster of this in Athena. Much better than a lot of the stuff for sale. The water is amazing, (postwork or not). reminds me a lot of the alien beach seen in Contact. I've not seen your art before, but a brief look through your gallery shows I was missing a treat. Very nice work.

Your planetary work is among the best that I've seen. Very much up the par of planetary ascension arts. Wonderful techniques and excellent vision! Great stuff!
