Description
I was walking around looking for something to take a photo of,and this guy was just sitting on a fig leaf. So since he was sitting their doing nothing,thought I would put him to work and have him pose for me,lol. Ok this is a Red-spotted Purple (Limenitis arthemis), as you can tell he is a bit ragged so in butterfly terms he must be a few days old. Hope you enjoy this one.

Actually he was in a bad neighborhood. He was just a few leaves down from the june beetles in my other recent photo. So I figure he had tried to get some of the fig and met with some resistance.lol

You're so lucky to get blue butterflies, and dragonflies for that matter! This one is just beautiful, and he shows us that it's a tough world out there, even for insects lol. Beautifully composed and great lighting =) I love it!!
