Yes, I agree, the kid is such a great contrast to the grown uo archers, makes the photo into a beautiful composition!

I always thought if you could fence, row, horseback ride, and arch your way through life... you'd be in great shape and prepared for the pitfalls... a wonderful capture of a great Medieval sport Adam!

Excellent shot! Yeah the kid's got a great expression. To improve this image you should crop out the archers on the edges. Three is a charm!

Well not much bleaching of colour .. it's like this unfortunately. This green(?) grass is typical Aussie winter drought grass. The eucalypts are olive, the clothes were not outstandingly colorful either. I wanted to leave the archer row as is... the archery event was open to allcomers.. there were these people in medieval dress first in line. Having the crop closer would have spoilt it...the sense of many participants... at least for me. If you look closely at the third hessian square they are shooting towards there is a stick. This was the target. They got very close, very often!

WONDERFUL! Love everything about it... I'd like to try bow sometime, I've only tried crossbow so far - VERY heavy stuff, but so much fun! :D

A wonderful image! That kid really makes the picture... (were it mine, IMO) I would have cropped as suggested, I find the car and the other archers arms a distraction. Also the contrast is muddy... a boost with levels would bring back the colors and it wouldn't look so washed out..... OK enough of my nitpicking.... looks like a fun event....
