Description
Glad to be back. Hurricane Charley knocked my power out for seven days. (I did this on a laptop). I was feeling nostalgic for the way this area looked before Charley. Now, the islands and inland look like they've been bombed. Thousands are homeless. And with 90+ degree heat, it is terrible. We are all thankful for the small things. Nature has a way of teaching us lessons.

Beautiful composition! In 2001, my home, cars, and most of the physical things I own were destroyed in Tropical Storm Allison, so I can definitely empathize with you about the recovery process (and well remember the heat!). I pary that you and others will recover soon and get on with your lives. I also urge others to make a small donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund (you can find the link at www.redcross.org). I could only spare a few dollars, but every little bit helps, and they were really there for us in 2001! Again, hope you made it through okay.

Very good piece! Charley was something else - had me with no power/water for about 10 days, too. I still have friends who haven't recovered yet, over a year later!
