I've been around a fair bit, seen the darker side of life, been burned, but still here. Different than most, we can have a unique outlook on things.
BIO
Originally started work with video production but quickly got involved in CGI in 1991 Unfortunately, almost all my work previous to 1999 (dating back to 1991) was lost due to computer problems, but a few pics survived (mostly the ones that were already online). The earliest renderings were done on Amiga500 with Sculpt/Animate4D, then later on an Amiga1200 with Imagine2, 3 and 4 Later renders were done on a Pentium133 in Imagine for DOS 4, then later on a PII233 with Imagine for Windows. Current work is done on my P4 3.2Ghz with 3dsmax, tho I have occasionally done some work with Lightwave and Cinema4D. Check out my homepage at http://members.iinet.net.au/~multispud22/

Excellent photorealism and a cool array of objects. The couch, plant and candle look especially terrific.

Some excellent texturing and interesting section of materials for contrast. Fine job!

That's not a photograph? I don't know what you're talking about in the narrative...but I can see the photographer in the coffee maker. And there's little details that most 3d artists don't think about. Like the wire wrapped around the wall to the kitchen. Are some things in the pic modeled and superimposed onto a photo? Wow!

This is totally amazing Lahl...I seem to have not really understood how deep the project was...the way i would have approached it is something else again...guess I'm a bit dense...or low reading comprehension or something....You are the Mistress of 3D in my books...we are not worthy...but thanx for communicating with us an now...seeing what you've done am freshly inspired to take another run at it....thanx...too bad the highest you can gon on that list is excellent as I think there shiuld be a perfect as well...cuz you are....ooooh sounding like a sychophant again...

This did turn out pretty good. I downloaded the props, but haven't tried it yet! I notice you used a different angle than suggested.
Lahl
Yes, it is 3d objects composited into the photo. It was a challenge given a while ago now at http://www.blochi.com/gfx/hdri/ to get people to actually use the tools of HDRI, GI,IBL etc to composite in the bacground plate given (there was another 2nd view given later elsewhere and I was so sick of the original angle I decided to do the 2nd angle) I was also sick of the objects given, so added my own instead. The point being to make the objects look like they belong and are part of the scene

The whole image is great, but that candle is really something... :)

I'm saving this one, to ponder and examine under a microscope (-: EXCELLENT!
Lahl
tien, if you want to examine it with a microscope, try looking at the hi-res version on the imagine site :)
