My intention is to show only very selected material - the standard here is remarkably high and has already been a huge inspiration: big up to all those who I've already come across and indeed, those who I've yet to discover. It'll be a mixture of my very latest stuff, before it gets onto my own site, plus some old favourites that still do it for me.BIOMy obsession with fractals dates back to reading James Gleick's 'Chaos' - the story of the discovery of the Mandelbrot set caught my imagination and the zooms of up to a million made me see the probing of fractal structures not so much as expanding a 2D image as a journey into the image through a third dimension. I've been dabbling in fractal art since 2002, trying all the great freeware generators. At the time of writing (May 2004) I'm mainly divided between ChaosPro and Apophysis (with IrfanView and the GIMP as post-processors).
I think creativity is a vital aspect of being human, of self-development and of quality of life. Those who never find an outlet must surely miss out. Fractal art is my ideal as it combines so much I enjoy - art, maths, computers and, of course, fractals themselves.
