Cool pic, especially the water effects. Yes, Bryce 5 takes much longer than 4...

Nice pic - don't know why you were berating it! Simple, but cool - and crystal clear. Didn't take that long to open, either.

very beautiful! lights and water are big time rendering hogs, but this one is worth the wait. :)

Good work for a first try with "Shutters" Bryce. :D I've still haven't gotten a render yet out of "Shutters again" Bryce that I was happy with the way the textures came out on a Poser figure.

Don't be sorry for posting this image! I think it's great!! The water is fabulous and the crystals are so well arranged, I espacially like the ones going up towards the character's head, superb geometrical effect there!! :o)

Nice symmetrical design and I like the contrast between the dark figure and the crystal forms. An intense spectral figure.

well alls I have heard is that the rendering engine in Bryce5 is way faster so maybe you need to go in and cut down on the reflections on the water and change the crystal settings on the crown....but to answer your question yes bryce is slower that the rest but it is so easy to learn compared to Max which I still am trying learning

Bryce 5 will render pretty quick if you don't use any of the new settings, like soft shadows and depth of field, etc. Try rendering with normal anti-aliasing, and render-to-disk options and see if that helps. (I'm into the 15th hour of a render myself - less than half finished!) Nice work though, keep it up and look forward to seeing more.
