I agree with BrasilGirl2004. It has a beautiful quality found in Japanese manga illustrations.

It does looks like bullets flying straight at me! Love the interlocking rings and spirals. Excellent work. I want to create things like this someday!

This is such a powerful image, Dirk. I love the way you've spiralled out from the color of birth... through the busy years... and into an almost monotone of old age... where the bullets of loss, pain and (sometimes) regret are coming at you pretty much constantly. It's an awesome render in every way!! :)

Excellent image, very impressive and emotional work. Equally impressive is your poetry, each verse very appropriate for the accompanying image. I guess that this is the wonder, or curse, of the human spirit. Experiencing the death of loved ones and unknown ones, knowing our time is limited and ultimately but a speck of dust, we continue on with our daily routines, trying to find some meaning in the meaninglessness of our existence. Even Bob Dylan once said, "he not busy being born is busy dying." We keep on breathing, putting one foot in front of the other to move, knowing all along that there is no place to hide. Courageous, spiritual, meaningless...I sure don't know.

Wow! You've got concentric spirals of hoops, tubes, rays, rods, rollers, cylinders . . everything but the kitchen sink in this image and it still comes together beautifully and harmoniously. Glad to see you posting new work again! Excellent! Rik
